Every kitchen needs a good scrubby! And why not have one that stands the test of time AND is washable.

This pattern is super simple and these little guys are quite durable (withstanding an accidental garbage disposal test).
So, let’s get started!
Gathering Materials
Yarn - 1 skein - I use Red Heart Scrubby Yarn and typically get 5 - 6 scrubbies per skein.
4.5mm crochet hook
Scissors
Needles - to weave in ends
Terms
Chain - ch
Single Crochet - sc
Stitch - st
Pattern
Even though these scrubbies are square, they’re worked in a circle. Don’t worry about “joining” or “slip stitching” and all that extra jazz.

Row 1 - Ch 16
Row 2 - In the second ch from the hook sc into each st. In the last st of the row, 2sc and add the stitch marker.
Row 3 - Sc in each st along the backside of the ch ultimately continuing into Row 2. (Image 1)

From here, we’ll be working in a loop counting “a loop” every time you pass the marker.
Loops 4 - 11 - Sc in each st. The more loops you crochet, the more it’ll turn into a “square” rather than an oval. (Image 2)

Loop 12 - Sc in each st ending in the center between two corners and fasten off.
The scrubby should look like a small pocket. Grab the finished end and the row directly opposite and stretch to form a new diagonal (Image 3) and sew along the diagonal. Weave in your ends. (Image 4)

Congratulations! You have finished your kitchen scrubby!
